Baja California forecast valid for Sat, Feb 8 2025

Late build reaches upper-teens with gusts over 20 strongest at Rasta Beach and La Ventana campground followed by Baja Joes and Los Barriles.

Some forecast days are burgers, others are like Soufflés.

A burger forecast is easy. Any mixture of the basic ingredients make it good, and toppings like winds aloft make it a winner.

Recently we have had Soufflé forecasts. Not many ingredients, but every one of them has to be perfect for the forecast to turn out!

 Today’s wind recipe:

1. The main ingredient is the strength of the thermal low-pressure in the Central Valleys.

2. If the valleys heat as expected, the rising air sucks the wind over the beaches.

3. A very local venturi effect from the bluff helps the Rasta Beach and campground winds.

4. A smidgen of low-pressure south of Cabo could help our wind. Dawns glassy Sea of Cortez is our frying pan today. Let’s see how these ingredients work!

La Ventana: Upper-teens to 20 sometimes unreliable inside focus in the campground area and weaken towards South Beach.
El Sargento to Rasta: Upper-teens to 20 sometimes unreliable inside
Los Barriles: Mid to upper-teens.
Wind strength details are in tables at bottom!
