Forecast Jargon Decoder: November 3, 2024

UP AND DOWN very strong NW winds on the COAST. Bay has On and Off NORTH winds sub-teens to mid 20’s strongest Pt. Isabel, Coyote and 3rd. Ave.

BAJA human forecasts have started!

Note: Last day of the forecast season! Go Baja! My goal each year is for the Windy City’s season to go out with a BANG! Sadly today looks like a very frustrating BLAST and Lull day as North winds ripple over the Bay Area.

Out at the ocean buoys NW 25g31 and Pt. Reyes NW 29g34 is looks like an awesome day,,,

BUT the North Pacific High, while creating upper 20’s coast winds, has pushed a high-pressure ridge inland to our north creating a very strong N. to S. pressure gradient.

This wind is warm so when it hits the Napa and Sonoma Coast Range it becomes turbulent with lots of vertical motion.

When these wind ripples reach the surface we see N. BLASTS but when the ripples lift from the surface we see deep Lulls.

DO NOT venture far from shore if you launch at all.

Use extreme caution launching kites!!!
