Daily human La Ventana & Los Barriles forecast.
Tuesday saw solid wind but today we should see earlier and stronger winds.
This animation starts with the setup Tuesday. Notice the North Pacific High in red which indicates higher pressure. Notice the lobe or surface ridge extending from the NPH over California towards the Great Basin. This causes the isobars to tighten over Baja so Tuesday saw solid wind.
But today, Wednesday, the high pressure in the Great Basin really builds and watch how the isobars stack closer together over Baja. The tighter the isobars the stronger the large-scale pressure gradient and the stronger the El Norte winds. Add the local pressure gradient to the inland valleys and we should see strong wind.
