Today, race with the clock. Most models have wind-killing clouds clearing by noon, while some have them lingering.

Bottom line: Mid to maybe weak upper-teens focused La Ventana IF clouds clear early.

Today’s wind recipe:

1. Bully boy, high pressure is preparing to move into the Great Basin to create Tuesday’s wild Baja wind, but it will not help today.

2. A tiny North Pacific High is weirdly vacationing near the Gorge, so zero help there.

3. A faint low-pressure area is south of Cabo that could offer us sub-teen wind.

4. Our big hope is Coastal Valley heating and low-teens thermal winds combining with #3.

5. BUT, heavy wind killing clouds from the Sub Tropical Jet Stream are streaming over us from the WSW. They will clear later this afternoon, but we need clearing by noon to allow enough time for valley heating. Monitor the clouds and your watch!

La Ventana Area: Forecast hinges on clouds clearing early! If so, then mid to maybe weak upper-teens.
El Sargento to Rasta: Forecast hinges on clouds clearing early! If so, then mid-teens.
Los Barriles: The Forecast hinges on clouds clearing early! If so then low to faint mid-teens N
