West Coast Wind Blog: Forecast Jargon Decoder:

A massive Gulf of Alaska wintry storm complex apparently did not get the word that we are moving into a La Niña pattern.

Extending from a weak rainy front will graze the Bay Area Saturday pushing our NW down to the Waddell to Natural Bridges zone.

Off the Golden Gate the ocean winds are W to WSW and are sucked towards a strong pressure gradient towards Sacramento and Redding with a mild pressure gradient towards Stockton.

So mid to upper-teens winds across Sherman for most of the day. Inside the Bay, the winds are focused mid Golden Gate to mid Olympic Circle to near Pt. Isabel.

On the Peninsula, this means mid-teens for The Stick and mid to mild upper-teens for the 3rd. Ave. Channel but often unreliable winds for the 3rd. Ave. launch sites.
